ESL Writing Class: Notes for the Quiz

So far the writing class has helped students learn how to write better sentences and interesting paragraphs.  We have been able to do that with a few different skills and techniques.

  1. the students learned a few basic English writing tools
  2. we practiced some editing exercises
  3. we used guided writing exercises to create a sense of place using descriptive words
  4. we learned about the six writing traits
  5. we used picture prompts to developed writing skills like voice
  6. the ESL students learned how to write a thesis sentence
  7. stop wordy sentences
  8. completed an article exercise about how to use A and THE correctly 

These are the things which students need to learn, review and remember for the quiz and mid term exam. Of course there might be a few more things to learn as well.
