Learn English Speaking

Here is the plan for this week to help ESL students learn English speaking skills.

It’s a short week because of the holiday on Wednesday. So, my ESL students have just one class to learn English responses for the conversation exam questions.

Please note: all exam questions are given in random order. Students do not choose which questions they answer.

Part 1. Look like and like

You will have 1 or 2 questions from this section. Long answers with full sentences and details are suggested.

  1. What do you like eating for lunch?
  2. Does your family like junk food?
  3. Would you like to live in England?
  4. Did you like going to high school?
  5. What are you like in the morning?
  6. What were you like as a child?
  7. What is television like?
  8. What is your home town like?
  9. What is your best friend like?
  10. What does your best friend look like?
  11. Do you look like your mother or father?

Part 2. Vocabulary

You will have several questions from this section. Explain the meaning of the words and make answers for the word mix.

Part 3. If Questions

You will have 2 or 3 questions from this section. Complete answers with long sentences and good details, please.

  • If you could be another person for a day, who would you be?
  • If you could meet any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
  • If you could do any job, what would you like to do?
  • If you could date a celebrity, who would you choose?
  • If you could speak another languages, what would it be?

Tell me about …

  • something that you have always wanted to buy.
  • a place you have never visited but would like to see.
  • something you have always wanted to learn how to do.
  • the best food you have eaten
  • the nicest person you have met
  • the most interesting place you have visited
  • the best movie you have seen

Part 4. Which One Is Better

You will have 1 question from this section.

Each question has two choices. You pick one and explain why it is better. Make sure your answers has 2 or 3 logical reasons for your choice. “Ahh, just …” is not a good answer.
