  • Friday of this week plus all of next week is the make up period.
  • Thurs/Fri of this week, we will review the final exam questions and make a test schedule.

Week 15 Dec 11 to 15

  • Make up classes continue
  • Classes on Mon/Tues
  • Speaking tests start Thurs/Fri

Return Quiz #2 (5)

  • Give back quiz with a few comments.

Pair Work Warm Up (15)

Choose one of the boxes on the vocabulary worksheet.

  • Ask your partner to say the answers.
  • Ask follow up questions.
  • Go quickly. Each box should take about 4-5 minutes.
  • Partner chooses another box.

Activity #2 Remember the Food (15)

Watch the video one time.

  • Write down as as many food words as possible.
  • Be sure to include countable and noun countable nouns.

I think there are 16 different kinds of food in the video. We’ll will compile a list together.

Now we’re going to do a short timed reading activity. You have a piece of paper. I will give you one minute to read the questions (there aren’t many) and write your answers.

Final Exam (20)

  • speaking test 25% of final score
  • check your ability to speak fluently and accurately
  • heck your understanding of vocabulary
  • about 5-7 minutes per person

‘Question 1 (2-3 minutes)

  • Speak fluently about the book you read.
  • Summarize book in 45 to 60 seconds – talk about character, plot and setting.
  • I may ask follow up questions.

Question 2 (1 minute)

  • vocabulary comprehension
  • I say 4-7 words or phrases
  • you give a FAST definition
  • words will be random

The words will come from several sources:

  1. 39 words from quiz #2 review worksheet
  2. this worksheet from week 13
  3. this adjective maze worksheet

Question 3 (1 minute)

Summarize the short story you read:

  1. Erasers
  2. Shipping containers
  3. Elevators
  4. Gunpowder

You speak for 20 to 30 seconds about story.

  • Highlight the connections that were behind the invention and the changes that happened because of the invention.
  • I will ask you follow up questions about the story or its meaning

Question 4 (1-2 minutes)

You will get one of these questions during the test (random). Make an interesting answer with long sentences and lots of details.

Be sure to include and explain the criterion (or criteria) that you use to make your decision. I will ask follow up questions.
