ESL GROUP ACTIVITY
The Walk About is an ESL conversation activity that help students learn to speak more fluently. Each student researches a topic that he/she knows well already before presentation. The students also make a small poster to create some attention. On presentation day, half the students put up their posters on he wall and wait at their station. The other half of the class circulates to each station, listens to the presentation and asks questions. After each student has visited each station, the groups switch, places and the circulation starts again.
RETELL A SCARY STORY
In this pair work activity, each student will read a one page scary story – either A or B story. In the next class, A and B students will make a small group and retell the story. The purpose is not to memorize the whole story but instead remember the key details -plot character, setting – and mix with his or her own words. And, the scare the other person.
