ESL Speaking: Review Adverbs of Frequency

Here is a quick review of the ESL material which we studied in English conversation class.

Adverbs of Frequency

Read each sentence. Write a question to match the sentence. Then re-write the sentence and add a logical adverb of frequency. You might want to make questions that begin with words like these:

  • How often do you…?
  • Do you ever….?
  • Are you ever …?

Example

I bring my lunch to school.

ESL Speaking: ED and ING

Here is the homework for Rob’s English conversation class. The homework is making questions and answers with adjectives that end in ED and ING.

  • Wrong: I was boring in Rob’s English class.
  • Right: I was bored in Rob’s English class.

THE GRAMMAR RULES

  • The person who feels: ED.
  • The thing that gives the feeling: ING
  • Me – ED. Thing – IN.

HOMEWORK

Make questions and answers with these words. For example:

  • What do you think about the movie?
  • I was bored by the movie. OR The movie was boring.
