Learn English Conversation: Week 4

 

Quick Review

Let’s take a look at some of the things we have learned, practiced and reviewed in our conversation class.

  1. Expand vocabulary by learning compound words.
  2. Help develop fluency by practicing three types of sentence patterns for questions.
  3. Help improve speaking accuracy with a prepositional phrase worksheet.
  4. Help improve listening and pronunciation skills with the final S worksheet.
  5. Help improve the link between imagination and speaking with these abstract pictures.
  6. Help improve logical thinking in English with these word puzzles.
  7. Practice speaking and thinking with this goat and boat puzzle.
  8. Completed chapter 1 (parts A to D) which helps review grammar, listening and speaking.

 

This Week’s Plan

  1. ESL Activity #1: Reading Puzzle: This ESL problem solving worksheet has a thinking puzzle. Read the question. Work with a partner to understand the problems and answer the questions.
  2. ESL Activity #1: Words and Symmetry: This video helps students review and improve their vocabulary skills. It uses the idea of symmetry.  That is, two things that seem to go together very well.
  3. Textbook. This week chapter 2, parts A and B.

Learn English Conversation, Week 3

 

This is week three of the intermediate conversation class. Here are some worksheets and activities for this week.

The prime objective this week is to improve the students’ vocabulary, fluency and accuracy.

ESL CONVERSATION ACTIVITIES

  1. A worksheet to improve vocabulary with compounds words. (no need to print this worksheet)
  2. Quick questions to practice specific sentence patterns.
  3. A simple worksheet with prepositions. Match the adjective and preposition. Move through the maze. then use each pair to make a question for your partner. (no need to print)
  4. Quick pair work exercise to practice final sounds.

TEXTBOOK

From the textbook, your homework was parts C and D from chapter 1. In class, we will review page 7. But you are responsible for all of the pages, not just what we do in class.

This is week two of the English conversation class. Here are some worksheets and activities to help the students learn English conversation by improving their vocabulary as well as reading and speaking fluency.
