- return Before and After writing assignment with feedback
- return any remaining stories
- review questions for the final exam
- complete the final exam schedule
- do a quick review of the syllabus to see if we completed out objectives
- jeopardy game or the simple slide show
Final Exam Questions
The final exam will 50 minutes. Time is short so you need to practice before the test.
The exam will have two parts.
Part 1. Rewrite
You will rewrite one of your previous stories with an argument and warrant: you will have either the Steve Jobs or the Less is More assignment. We will not watch the video in class.
I will chose one of these for the final exam, so you might want to prepare answers for both.
You will rewrite what you have learned or can remember. There are key points to be sure to include: summarize the speaker’s argument and warrants. Then, write your response (do you agree or disagree?) with an argument and warrant. I am interested in your idea, so do not repeat what was in the video.
Part 2. Thinking Independently and Make Persuasive Arguments
I will give you a famous quote. Your task is to do the following:
- Describe what you think is the meaning of the quote. What is the argument and warrant?
- Tell me if you agree or disagree. Respond with an arguments, warrants and evidence. Be thoughtful and persuasive.
- Quote 1: Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. –Napoleon Hill
- Quote 2: Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value. -Albert Einstein
- Quote 3: Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. – George Bernard Shaw
