Today’s the last class for Business Trade English. So, let’s have a test.
Final Exam
The final exam will have 2 parts:
- short speaking test
- long writing test
Students will not be able to use a book or any papers during the exam.
Part 1 Speaking Test
The ESL English speaking test will be about 3-4 minutes per person. Each student will get 3 kinds of questions:
- Daily life
- What’s your favorite
- Vocabulary
Answer format for Q1 and Q2
Make an answer with a full sentence. I will ask you a follow-up question. For example:
- A: Do you walk to work?
- B: No, I don’t walk to work.
- A: Why not?
- B: I drive to work because my office is far from my house.
Question 1 Daily Life
You will have 2 or 3 of these questions.
- Do you get up before 8 o’clock every day?
- Do you come here by bus every day?
- Do you read a newspaper every day?
- Do you watch TV in the morning?
- Do you have dinner after 8 o’clock?
- Do you have lunch with friends?
Question 2 Favorite
You will have 2 or 3 of these questions.
- What’s your favorite drink?
- What’s your favorite place to go on the weekend?
- What’s your favorite book?
- What’s your favorite sport?
- What’s your favorite animal?
- What’s your favorite food?
Question 3 Vocabulary
I say 3 word and you say 2 answers: the group name and 2 examples.
For example:
- A: walk, run, jump
- B: They are verbs. Two more examples are jog and swim.
You will have 2 or 3 of these questions.
- Morning, night, afternoon
- Grass, leaves, trees
- Eyes, mouth, nose
- Sea, sun, sand
- Book, magazine, newspaper
- Window, door, desk
- Short, trousers, jacket
- Verb, noun adjective
- Sister, mother, aunt
- Love, like, enjoy
Part 2 Writing Test
The English writing test has 4 kinds of questions:
- yes – no answers
- answers with THERE IS or THERE ARE
- answers to questions with DO
- email writing
Question 1 YES-NO
Write YES-NO answers to the questions. You will have 2 or 3 of these questions.
For example:
- Is it cold today? (no)
- No, it is not cold today.
- Do you have a pet? (yes)
- Yes, I have a pet.

- Is she a good teacher? (yes)
- Do you own a car? (no)
- Are you busy on weekends? (yes)
- Is this room small? (no)
- Is the students in the library? (yes)
- Can you swim? (no)
- Are they hungry? (no)
Question 2 THERE IS THERE ARE
Write answers with THERE IS or THERE ARE. You will have 2 or 3 of these questions.
For example:
- How many books are on the table? (1)
- There is 1 book on the table.
- How much rice is in the store? (5 bags)
- There are 5 bags on the stores.

- How many weeks are in a year?

Question 3 DO QUESTIONS
Read a question with DO. Write an answer with a correct verb. You will have 2 or 3 of these questions.
For example:
- What do you do on the weekend?
- I like to read books on the weekend.

Question 4 EMAIL WRITING
You will write two business emails.
- One email asks 3 questions.
- One email answers the questions.
- Good formatting (who, why, what, thank you, good-bye).
- A list of questions and answers.
- Make full sentence answers.
